The sims 3 patch 1.6?

If I uninstall the sims 3 from my computer to get the new patch will my homes and people I made still saved? Need to know... want the new patch! Please!The sims 3 patch 1.6?
Your custom music, saves, saved sims, downloads, etc. are all stored in your profile's Documents folder: ~/Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/.

(where '~' represents your profile's home folder, something like: /home/rachael/)



Uninstalling shouldn't remove this folder or its contents, but if you feel you need to protect it, you can place a copy on your desktop (holding the option button while you drag the files).The sims 3 patch 1.6?
Why do you need to uninstall your game for the patch? When you start your game it should ask you to update your game... (unless of course you have one of those free versions....)

You have to back up your game before uninstalling it otherwise uninstalling will delete your saved games.
