Every time i try to update the latest patch(v1.2.7) it just stops at 95% saying that there's a ufc-gorilla error. I did all the research i could do but cant seem to find the right way to fix this. Do you have a no-censor-blur patch in? If so you need to pull it out and put the original, censored file back in in order to update.
If that's the problem, you need to go here:
C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin
And replace this file:
Shaders_Win32.precomp
with the original one, which you can find on your game disk.
Afterwards, you may want to use a censor patch that comes in package file format, so you can just remove it when updating. Mod the Sims has one.

Can't install Sims 3 Patch Version 1.2.7. Help Please?!?
I'm trying to install the patch 1.2.7, because the speeds are frustrating me and watching my Sims sleep for 8 minutes is QUITE dull. So I downloaded the patch, and as soon as I try to run it, the installishield pops up, loads, and then tells me this message as an error.
"The Setup has detected that the installed game region is incorrect. This update requires a different game region in order to be installed."

Problems with the 1.10 sims 3 patch!?
after i installed the 1.10 patch, my sims couldnt build skills! whenever i click on an item (excersise machine, mirror, etc.) i cant practice speech or workout or even build cooking skills when i watch tv! so i went to the library and tried to look for skill books but there werent any. i was really confused!
and then another thing is when i click on a building like the school or city hall or army base, nothing comes up. i have to manually get a job from the computer %26gt;:(
OH and another thing is that for some reason, none of my jobs require skills anymore?? it still says boss relationship and mood but not the other skills! i've had many problems with the patches and had to renistall my game, TWICE! i just think EA needs to make sure everything works BEFORE they release it instead of throwing it out there and seeing what happens.

Is your game pirated? If so after update you must also reinstall the crack for the new version.
If not, Update your Sims 3 File first, then your expansions after words, Also it could be the launch manager, Go directly to your install location and run the file "TS3.exe" this is the main game and but the launcher.
Your game should work fine when doing so.
If you must close Origins Via Task manager and all files in relation and restart it in Administrative by right click and selecting Run as Admin. Do the sa me for the sims 3 launcher but only after you made sure to update, or at least attempted.

So looking at the latest expansion pack; The Sims 3 Late Night, figuring that there are a lot of high rises and large structures, this will be the most demanding expansion pack that is currently available for The Sims 3. So you're probably going to want a dual core CPU, at least 4GB RAM to avoid choppy gameplay, and a decent graphics card that has a bare minimum of 128MB for its memory. My computer has all of this and I have a NVIDIA GTX 260 for my graphics card, allowing me to run all the settings on highest, with the exception of the maximum lots rendered being 1. This should give you a good idea of what to look for.

However, when you install a new expansion, you WILL update to the latest patch that the expansion was running on when it was released. So at that point, all newer patches after that can continue to be declined.
Finally, there is Pixel Shader 2.0. As long as you have a graphics card that supports this, you should be fine. Pixel Shader 2.0 is basically a program that applies to that shading of 3D objects. There's not really much more to it.
